I do. The worst that has ever happened is that the electric went out and it stopped running and I woke up.
It sounds to me like you may be concerned about an electric surge electrocuting you. It is very doubtful that that would happen, however there are two things you can do if you are concerned about it.
One, use a surge protector.
Two, most CPAPs come with a battery pack that can be ordered for cases when you are camping or travelling somewhere where you have no electricity.

I assume you sleep inside, not out in the rain or thunder. I guess if you're worried about power surges you should plug it into an outlet with a surge protector. You will still have apnea regardless of the weather, so you should still wear your CPAP.

Yes. It should come with a backup system for power failure. A power surge will not cause a fire or hurt you. You might also try calling the electric company and see if they have a program for disabled residents that turns their electricity back on first after an outage. They have something like that with CPS here in San Antonio.

Good question! I have sleep apnea, but don't have the CPAP yet. I'd be interested to find out myself.
