In any of these cases, you need to see the doctor. Don't let it get out of hand. I'm speaking from previous experience. I ended up with pneumonia, a collapsed lung, empyema and needed chest drains for 3 months. Not nice in the slightest.

TB andTuberculosis are the same disease. Pneumonia and Tuberculosis are bacterial infections. With appropriate antibiotics they are completely curable. Tuberculosis treatment would go on from 6 months to 1 year.Pneumonia would take 2-3 weeks. Its important to complete the entire course of both the medications because if you leave it in the middle.... You could land up with multidrug resistant Tuberculosis or pneumonia.
Symptomatic relief is seen within 1 month of therapy with tuberculosis and 2 weeks with pneumonia. But its important to finish the entire course.

Pneumonia and TB are almost always treatable curable with apropriate antibiotics. Occasionally the bug will be resistant to the antibiotics and that gets a bit more complicated. Also, some pneumonias are viral, in which case treatment is supportive - fluids, deep breathing to clear secretions, etc.

Please note that T.B. and Tuberculosis are one and the same. Please see the webpages for more details on Tuberculosis and Pneumonia. The medical community is facing new problems due to drug resistant bacteria. The disease caused by the drug resistant bacteria is fatal and is difficult to treat. The hospital expenses for treating the disease is also enormous.
