In the past month I've developed cronic flem which after a few weeks turned into a cronic itchy throat which sometimes leads to interruptions in my breathing, and in certain circumstances flem and wheezing episodes which prevents me from breathing for about 10 seconds. I've never had allergies or athsma my entire life, nor do they run in my family. But I'm seriouslt puzzled on what this could be. Any suggestions?

I have heard that you don't get it again if you have already had it, just like chicken pox, but I'm not sure. I had a really bad episode of it last summer, kept coughing for one month, complete with the "whooping" noise it's known for. Since then, every time I've gotten sick, the coughing keeps up a while after I've gotten better. And I can't help this little fear that it may be coming back. It's not life-threatening or anything, but it is extremely annoying and takes a real toll on my throat and lungs.

an OTC pain killer that DOESN'T lower a fever? i want my body to do its job - i pay it enough! - and kill this damned cold or flu i've got, with a fever, but i don't care for the associated headache. everything i've looked at is both fever reducing and analgesic. anyone? annoyingly, i just recalled i only have three dollars to my name. i guess it'll buy one of those rip-off one pill-er's. bastards. gr.

I've had asthma since childhood, I'm now 33 and it's started deteriorating. Is this common? I'm otherwise helathy, haven't changed my diet, don't smoke...

Seen GP who re-prescribed me a steroid (he stopped giving them to me when I was about 15 as it was under control) so I'm confused.

Any ideas / alternatives to pumping me full of steroids which usually gave me throat infections (yes I do the rinse mouth with water afterwards.)

Back in the 1980s, I worked for Eckler's Corvettes, Titusville, FL. I had to quit because the fumes from the resin burnt out my sinuses and the fiberglass irratated my skin and the combination effected my lungs. I need to know the ingredients used to see what happened.

I do not understand what is causing them, i take my preventative medicine every day and strangely one night i am fine the next i am up through out the night to take my emegancy inhaler, which makes my heart go too fast and i cant sleep. It does not feel like the asthma attacks i had when i was young. I had 3 chest infections last year and the last one only cleared up 3 weeks ago, i cough up contantly and my chest weezes. When i go to the doc though i get told just to take my emergancy inhaler. Today i woke up breathless in a coughing fit and i felt as thou water was in my lungs, i then took a terrible attack, i look white and feel faint and couldnt get enough air to take my inhaler, i am worried i will have another attack, they are worse when i try to lie down or after i eat. The health services seem to just want rid of me, they wont give me a lung scan, just fill me up with steriods. I am off work again, i really cant live like this....i feel very congested and sore
