I have had a stuffed nose for 2 years now, but my doctor told me it was enlargened adenoids. I have postnasal drip/stones, and I get throat aches once in a while; I think my tonsils are swollen. Also, my lymph nodes around my jaw area are swollen; they've been like that for a year now. Sometimes, I feel tired in the morning an also in the evenings. It gets better later at night; I get 7-8 hours of sleep every night. It's just that I fell tired, and I have dark circles under my eyes. I seriously hope it's not some immune disease/reaction. Does anyone think this might be a life threatening condition? I'm a hypochroniac, BTW.

I have a hard time getting any sleep because of my coughing which has not been remedied by the cough syrup I have been taking for more than 2 days now. I have developed a sore throat due to my persistent coughing that is caused by an irritating "something" in my throat.

i have a head cold, seemingly, and a sore throat. saline nasal lavages help, to a certain point, but i thought i'd ramp up the antibacterial effect (if, in fact, it would be ramping it up). so far, i've had a mildly productive yellow cough/sneeze (though hardly a cough to speak of). i'm a non smoker. i may as well mention headache, seeming fever (i lack a thermometer), and general malaise. for those who'll say, "it's a virus, antibacterials won't help.", i believe i can have a virus and a bacterial infection in my now-better-suited-to-bacteria nose, at the same time. prove me wrong, if you can. bona fides or, er, resumes would be helpful ("mother" counts). other suggestions (beyond the typical, "rest and fluids") appreciated, as well. thanks in advance!

For almost the past 2 weeks, I have had what feels like pressure in my forehead, probably sinus pressure. I feel slightly off balance, startled by sudden movements, and slightly uncoordinated. I'm also experiencing some physical and mental fatigue as well as anxiety. Is this normal with sinus inflammation, or is this more likely some serious neurological disorder?

I have an albuterol inhaler for my resently diagnosed asthma. But I KNOW that it makes me shake. A little while after I use it, I start to physically shake a lot. Some times violently. I know that I should tell my doctor, but is it serious enough to tell her about or should I just deal with it?

My husband has recently got over bacterial pneumonia (MRSA). The doctors told him that he must never smoke again. I have just discovered that he has been smoking secretly. Could this be a big problem or am I worrying unnecessarily???

My child has had a cough for months that hasn't responded to antibiotics, steroids, or allergy meds. I don't believe my family practitioner is providing appropriate care and would like to see a specialist but I'm not sure what type to contact. Do I need an interal medicine doc or a pediatric allergist or...??? The FP is beginning to suspect asthma at this point but my child is not wheezing or having difficulty w/physical activity or any of the other asthma symptoms, just a chronic cough.

He lives with OLD grandparents alone. He sneaks out to play and doesnt care about med times ect. which tells me he is in denial. Grams told me about disease not him...also denial. He obviously is uncomfortable disclosing his illness. His grams would like me to discuss with him so I can make sure I assist with knowing his med times ect so to send him home if needed. I also want to help this sweet boy as much as possible to enjoy his childhood. I will know his med times ect but how do I deal emotionally as I will also need to inform my child and prepare him for what may come sooner than later. I want to be a sort of surrogate mom so he can be the YOUNG KID that he is and yet be informed enough to ease fears of the grandparents so that we can have sleepovers ect. I need all the help I can get with getting him to communicate and open up and accept and take responsiblity for his own health and to let him know we love him and will always be here. Please help me!

I have had mild asthma for a long time, but never caused a big problem. But with this heat wave it seems to have kicked into higher gear-- anyone else have the same thing?

BTW-- I have super cold AC at work, but no AC at home, so there are lots of temp changes too.

I've been taking Advair 250/50 for about 6 years now and I bruise extremely easily. Is anyone else having these symptoms? I also have the excessive belly fat I have heard about from Advair. I have started searching for alternative ways to treat Asthma besides this drug. Does anyone have any info they can give me on herbal remedies or things they have done to ease their Asthma symptoms? I recently reduced my dosage to 100/50 to see if that makes any difference. I have tried to go without the Advair but my asthma symptoms appear very quickly without it. I really want to get off of this medication! Any advice is appreciated.

I'm 17 years old. I have had asthma since I was about 3 years old. I was on a lot of meds as a kid, but within the past 6 years I have not been on anything. In the past 3-4 years though, I needed to be on a preventor med. I just never told my mom. (i know... stupid... you dont have to tell me) Within the past few weeks my lungs have really started to hurt. It's not my heart... It's my lungs and I've never ever ever had pain like this.. Also, I get these really sharp pains near my ribs when I take a deep breath and it hurts so much that I can't finish the breath.... Is this all related to my asthma?? By the way, I'm not a total idiot and I am going to the doctor soon.... I was just wondering if there was any advice out there for me.... thanks...

What is the estimated percentage of men affected? and of those, how many (estimate) are aware of the problem going into a marriage? Do these figures vary among race lines? Are there required test now in place to get this tested before a marriage license is issued?
