did they do any x-rays or bronchoscopy on you? if yes, it could be that they may have found something and they want to verify what it is with a cat scan. they want to find the exact location of the debris that they found. scans are more accurate than x-rays, that's why.

Never heard of this scan and I work in a hospital. I am guessing it might be a CT Scan of your thorax or maybe an MRI of your thorax.

An athsma attack is a contraction of the osophagus airway blocking the air into your lungs. They may want to just examine your windpipe for any abnormalities in its size I'm assumming.

I assume it would show your airway and if it is abnormal in structure or size or if there is blockage for some reason. don't get all upset or worried. just wait and see what the results are.
