heres a couple:
Ingredients: 1 Tablespoon Water
2 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice
Instructions: Take lemon juice and water, do this every day and night 2 times.
Ingredients: One VERY STEAMY bathroom
Ingredients: glass of milk
Ingredients: Fresh Air and Hot Coffee.
Ingredients:
1 cup of warm water
1/2 (one-half0 teaspoon of salt
pinch of baking soda
Mix the above ingredients and use a bulb syringe or water pic to flush the solution through your sinuses. I hold my head upside down over the toilet. Let the saltwater run out your nose. This treatment was handed out to everyone by an ear, nose and throat
doctor at an asthma support goup meeting. Make sure the water is warm or it will be uncomfortable.
The baking soda is for the proper ph. This treatment is used in a hospital out west that
specializes in children with asthma. It works..it flushes allergens out before it reaches the lungs and also can abort sinus infections.

You need to be careful with home remedies for asthma. It is a serious condition and a bad attack could mean a trip to the emergency room.
But when I was having an attack one time I used apple cider vinegar and water boiling over the stove and put my face into the steam and breathed. It helped.
Some things to think about. A study found that if you have gas appliances (stove, heat) that aggrivates asthma. Carpeting in a house especially in your bedroom, is not good. Do you use Febreeze to spray after vacuuming? It helps keep down dust mites.
I also use lavender oil, which has been found to open up the broncial tubes and relax the lungs. Quercitin tablets (can be bought in health food stores) is good, take at least 500 mgs.

This all depends on the cause of it. If its an irritant, emotional stimulus, etc.
There are many essential oils that claim to work on the respiratory system. (Do a search for Essential Oil Asthma).
Since asthma is a bronchospasm, sometimes breathing cool air is helpful.
There are medications that work for the non-acute and help to maintain.
The most common sense is just to avoid exposure to pollution, stress, animals, etc - which is not practical. Asthma can be controlled -
Good luck - Do a search on the net for Asthma Home Remedy and you will find more insight.

Well Asthma is one form of atopic(allergey)diseases(triggered by a variety of stimuli casued by some immune cells excitation), its charecterised by recurrent episodes of shortness of breath, cough, wheeze caused by Reversible airways obstruction.
So it needs medical care, consulting a specialist or at least a general practitioner, taking medication according to the severity.
psychological factor plays a great role also.
and for Home remidies ... they dont Treat the condition, but few may help as helping measures like breathing water vapour, but most other measures sometimes Do harm or even Aggriviate the condition and make it wors.
Sitting position bending forwards, with elbows on the knees may help because this positionhelps the secondary breathing muscles to work.

Well I have had asthma since I was born but I was diagnosed with it when I was 3 years old. I have exercise and allergy induced asthma. When I have an asthma attack I drink coffee. It calms my rapid breathing down and stops my weezing, but you cannot use decaffinated coffee. Also yoga works really well because it regulates your breathing.

I am an asthmatic since I was a teenager. I take in ventolin inhaler only as the last resort. I take 'predicillon' (spelling?) sparingly and at night. Continuous taking these steriod-drug (although effective) will worsen my skin condition. I often use controlled breathing technique to great effect. While experiencing bronchial spasm and chest tightness I would slowly breathe in and out while seated and relax my nerves and mind. It helps to remain clam throughout. After that I would sip a little warm water. I would not try to exert coughing out the phlegm as it would only worsen my condition. Perhaps regular yoga exercises may help to prevent such attacks.
