Yes indeed and you are very insightful for asking this. Inhalation of flatulence carries with it many dangers. The methane produced is toxic and flammable. Excessive inhalation of methane can result in death. Also many people carry Hepatitis C AIDS/HIV and a host of other dangerous diseases. The molecules of flatulence that you inhale and detect as malodorous came from deep within the intestines of these contagious people.
When someone breaks wind run, do not walk away from them. If someone cuts loose in an elevator then hold your breath and exit on the next floor. Remember it is up to you to protect yourself. Be safe. Also remember that fresh air is safe air.

well.........it doesnt smell good but there is no known reasearch it is bad for your health like smoking unless you count vomiting a hazard
