Well look for 1- university's with interest in your work, set reunions and meetings.
2- contact your embassy, and see if they can help in some way
3- try to find work or volunteer on a research program in a university and the present your own.
4- surf the web.

I'm a med student from Costa Rica, and i am currently researching stem cells in my university.
In my opinion you should look for university's.

Call the pharmacutical companies and see if they are needing doctors in this specific field of study. You then would recrute patients that would qualify for the particular study.
