In the past month I've developed cronic flem which after a few weeks turned into a cronic itchy throat which sometimes leads to interruptions in my breathing, and in certain circumstances flem and wheezing episodes which prevents me from breathing for about 10 seconds. I've never had allergies or athsma my entire life, nor do they run in my family. But I'm seriouslt puzzled on what this could be. Any suggestions?

you're only wheeze for 10 seconds? then i think it's not asthma, because if it was, it will not go away on its own. when it comes to asthma, you need medications for maintenance, and when an allergen triggers your asthma, you have to take the medication (ex. albuterol) for relief. it's not something that will go away on its own.

sounds like allergies. i get that a lot too especially in the spring. wheezing can be understable and normal, but it doesn't necessarily mean asthma, and also it depends on how strong the wheezing is. i wheez too when i get my allergies, but not as bad as somebody with asthma.

It sounds like you have developed an allergy to something. The older we get its not impossible to start having them. The wheezing is a symptom caused from it. Yes they call it asthma but that is caused from an allergic reaction. Until you go and see a doctor I would recommend you buying Benydrle capsules. If you are still wheezing you might need an inhale, Albutural. If your symptoms aren't relieved from pills Id advise you seeing a doctor.

Hi... I'm an Athsmatic person since I was a baby... and I'm allergic to several things!

However, this year, for the first time I had gone to hospital (ICU) because I couldn't breath... I had my lounges with an inflammation and I couldn't breath at all!

Two months later, I started thinking that it could happen again, and I became very fobic!

Almost two months later they decided that my lounges are fine, and what I had is anxiety!... Pos-traumatic disorder because of the first episode...

Through that time (4 mounths) I barely breath... today, after 20 days with treatment of a psychologist... I'm very good!

What you feel... might be in your unconscious... try to talk with someone who understands more these cases, like some physician!

I hope I'd helped.

Get well!

Some people grow out of them and some grow into them. We grew into them. Go to the doctor and get a prescription for a Albuterol inhalor. It helps a lot, drink water after you use it or it can cause a sore throat. Ask him about allergies at that time also. I just live with mine. (sniff sniff)

well let me seeee.. you lose your breath? GO to a DR!

If I was a betting person, I'd say you have severe allergies, the lose of breath *could* mean asthma but the mucus sounds like an allergy or sinuses. It could be asthma, but if you have pain behind your ears and temples i'd say sinuses.

GO SEE A DR! losing your breath is NOT something to play with.

it sounds like allergies. I have both, but i dont get too bad of flem (gallahs or w/e). Go see ur doctor and he can perscribe Zyrtec D, which i use. It is AWESOME! the over the counter one works too, but the one from the doc works best. good luck. Oh and eat plenty ginger. That helps!

Normally asthma developes in childhood and as the child ages it becomes less severe. However, I recommend you see your doctor immediately. Your breathing is nothing to mess around with. Millions of people have died from asthma attacks. It is NOT to be taken lightly
