Have you tried fixed combination therapy -ICS-LABA? (e.g. seretide or Symbicort)

See an allergist and get tested to learn what your "triggers" are and learn to use a flow meter to monitor your condition to keep it in control. Take your asthma medication - like Singulair and Advair every day. Use your inhaler only for "rescues". If you are using the inhaler a lot call the doc right away. Frequent use of the inhaler makes them ineffective when you need them the most!
