I've been suffering from a number of symptoms over the weekend and this morning I went to see a doctor, who diagnosed me with (acute?) tonsillitis. He's given me some medicine which has helped with the fever, chills and queasiness-- but in the intervening time, my tonsils have started bleeding in earnest. I'm not finding that on the list of common tonsillitis symptoms. Should I go see a doctor again as soon as possible, or would it be best to wait unil my next appointment on Thursday?

My doc gave me singulair, but im not sure what it does...does it help slow down your heart rate to counteract the inhaler...or shortness of breath?

I have asthma. It's usually pretty mild and I'm pretty active, but when cold season comes around it seems like I jog 1 lap around the track and i feel like someone is sitting on my chest. If I get a cold it almost always turns to bronchitis and then leads to pnemonia. I'm made numerous ER visits. The most serious one was at night I woke up and I could hardly breathe and there was this liquidy rattling in my chest every time I inhaled. My mom drove me to the ER and they tested my oxygen level, which had gotten down to 81. I'm currently prescribed with an albuterol inhaler, Xopenex for a nebulizer fluid, and pulmicort for a daily medication. Is there anything else I can do?

I had it for 6 days before the doctor decided to x-ray (since I still had a fever) I finished 10 days of antibiotics. After my 2nd set of x-rays the Doc said the pneumonia is still there. He said it should continue to clear up on its' own within another 2 weeks. Today my body aches and fever are starting to come back. What can I eat to boost my immune system? I can't think of anything else that I can do besides "rest". Any sugestions? I have been real ill!

Ok my friend has a problem where it hurts her to breathe. She cant do anything and she also has a lot of shorntess of breath. She coughs A LOT. She has a history of cancer in her family. Her mom doesnt smoke and neither does she. This has just recently started. Her doctors cant figure out whats wrong. She has been to numerous doctors who all do the same tests and say the same things. What could be wrong with her? I dont want her to die or get worst, just because we DONT know what this is. If you know any websites that might be able to help then please give them to me! Thanks!

Only happened twice so far but throat feels like it totally closes. It feels like something almost triggers it. Felt like a piece of dust the one time and the last time 2 years ago, it happened AFTER I ate some chips then coughed. Feeling of no air coming in at all lasts for like 20 seconds then gradually comes back. Ever since that one time throat feels sensitive. Scary as hell. Gonna go to a ear, nose and throat doctor VERY soon.

Two weeks ago i started having a mild burning pain at the right side of my chest, it worsens when I smoke, I've been smoking for over 12 yrs now and i am 31 yrs old. Recently i increased my smoking rate from about half a pack a day to a pack a day cos i was really stressed up, thats when this pain started. I am over weight and i don't exercise much. I complained to my doctor and he gave me some painkillers and asked me to come back if the pain doesn't go away, I'vew finished the drugs and the pain is still there. I've decided to suspend smoking for a week to see if the pain will go away, if it does then i will consider quitting permanently. I have a 4 month old daughter and I'll like to live long enough to give her good education etc. The pain gets worse when i take a deep breadth or try to pull my stomach inwards. Is it possible that i have burned my lungs with heavy tobacco smoke or is this a symptom of something more sinister, i'd like to know before I go back to the doctor
