I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Usually when there was a major change in the pressure outside (I live in the north, and the temperature spikes and dips do wonders to chronic sufferers of bronchitis!). Each time I would get horrible hacking coughs, hoarking up green phlegm..it was so frustrating!

The key to getting rid of your bronchitis is to find a way to completely eliminate the germs that are causing all the phlegm and irritation leading to your hoarking cough and heavy breathing. Keep reading to learn how to do kill these germs!!

This page it will change your life and make you feel 100% better within just 24 hours!

Bronchitis is a respiratory disease in which the mucous membrane in the lungs' bronchial passages becomes inflamed. As the irritated membrane swells and grows thicker, it narrows or shuts off the tiny airways in the lungs, resulting in coughing spells accompanied by thick phlegm and breathlessness. The disease comes in two forms: acute (lasting less than 6 weeks) and chronic (reoccurring frequently for more than two years). In addition, people with asthma also experience an inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes called asthmatic bronchitis.

If you are a smoker and come down with acute bronchitis, it will be much harder for you to recover. Even one puff on a cigarette is enough to cause temporary paralysis of the tiny hair like structures in your lungs, called cilia, that are responsible for brushing out debris, irritants, and excess mucus.

Because I am a smoker and suffer from asthma and bronchitis I have a standing order for a cough medicine with codeine in it. The codeine paralyzes the cough reflex to help control it hope this answers your question

I have chronic bronchitis - what helps a lot is to have a cool mist steamer running while you sleep. Park yourself in a hot shower and suck in all that steam. Instead of lozonges or cough drops, such on hard lemon candies or hard peppermints. If over the counter DM cough syrup isn't doing it for you, ask the pharmacist for one with codeine (but be careful with it). Tea with honey and lemon.

Currently suffering from this same ailment for the last 5 weeks, I understand your cry for help!
According to a pulmonologist I spoke to yesterday, the best treatment is to quit smoking if you do (obviously, but easier said than done!), take "mucinex" (it's over the counter at your pharmacy), and force lots of fluids (water, not coffee, sodas or even juice).
Hopefully he knows what he's talking about!

Call your DR and tell him you need a Z pack.

Its 5 pills taken one a day for 5 days.

Knocks it right out by day 2 usually. He should write some cough syrup that will help you get some rest, too.

ask your doctor for a cough med with codeine. codeine will stop your cough. if you aren't able to do that then try lemon juice and honey mixed together, it works but not as well as the codeine.
good luck and i hope you feel better.
