Only happened twice so far but throat feels like it totally closes. It feels like something almost triggers it. Felt like a piece of dust the one time and the last time 2 years ago, it happened AFTER I ate some chips then coughed. Feeling of no air coming in at all lasts for like 20 seconds then gradually comes back. Ever since that one time throat feels sensitive. Scary as hell. Gonna go to a ear, nose and throat doctor VERY soon.

Good idea to go to the doctor! I know it can be really scary when you can't breathe. You just don't want to mess around with that. If you have any spare time, look up laryngospasm online. That is when your vocal cords get irritated by something and (in a defensive mechanism to protect your fragile airway and lungs from things that should not go in them) slam shut together and basically prevent anything from going in and out until the stimulus passes. It's pretty weird how your body reacts when it is defending itself, like not letting you breathe! The other response about allergies is true too, and lots of times you get itching and swelling in different places in your body. Make that appointment soon! Good luck!

You probably were eating too fast or doing something else while eating and the food went "the wrong way". Maybe a mistimed swallow. It's a good idea to see the ENT, he can scope you and make sure there is nothing there.

Might be asthma because that's the feeling I get when I'm getting ready to have an asthma attack. I'd check with your regular doctor for a referral to a pulmonologist to check it out.

sounds like an allergic reaction. You may have a sensitivity to certain foods. Best to have a doctor check you out. They will send you to an allergist.
