My husband has been diagnosed with COPD. He is 50 and a life long smoker. He just quit a week ago. I can not get a direct answer. Does this mean he will definitely die of this illness? How long does he have to live approx? I am so scared!

For a while now the U.S government has been selling cigarettes
and the reason if because nicitine, a very powerfull substance that makes smoking addicting. Every puff of smoke shortens your life time for about 2 minutes. (It's ok if you smoke a little bit, just too much could make damage) I am asking beacause I need your apinion if somking should be illegal or not.

Thank you!

A few months ago my husband started to have respiratory problems. He feels that he cannot get enough air into his lungs when he breathes and he also feels a nearly constant pressure in his chest. He went to see our GP who suspected he might have a lungs problem, so he sent him off for a few tests. The tests came out normal. It's like the doctors can't find anything wrong, but he still continues to feel the same.If you know anythig to help. we would be grateful.
Thank you
