Avoid milk & milk products. try hot steam inhalation, take a cough syrup, but be careful, these have a sedative effect so stay at home and don't drive. Consult your doctor.

Here's wikipedia's take on the treatment:
In most cases, acute bronchitis is caused by viruses, not bacteria and it will go away on its own after a few days without antibiotics. One should get plenty of rest, especially until fever subsides, and plenty of non-caffeinated clear fluids such as water or juices (up to 3 or 4 L/day)

To increase the humidity in the environment, one can use room humidifiers, or simply one of the home remedies such as putting wet towels or blankets around the house.

To treat acute bronchitis that appears to be caused by a bacterial infection, or as a precaution, antibiotics may be given.

To help the bronchial tree heal faster and not make bronchitis worse, smokers should cut down on the number of cigarettes they smoke (or quit altogether if possible), or at least try not to smoke in their house.

Bronchitis is normally caused by thick, post-nasal drip that bacteria stick to and travels to the upper part of your lungs. You're inhaling and swallowing it. It's not normally viral. Symptoms will include a dry, hacking cough. To ease up the symptoms, use an over-counter cough suppressant (or call the doc for rx and antibiotics if you have green/yellow mucous). You should be uping your fluids considerably as this will loosen up any viscosity of mucous in your chest. Hot teas, the old "chicken soup" and hot showers will all help relieve symptoms. Old fashioned aspirin (if you can take it) taken with food will decrease the inflammation of the bronchi. Use a humidifier if you're running home heater. You can prevent bronchitis by hydrating yourself better and keeping the atmosphere a little moist. Hope this helps. Godloveya.

I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Usually when there was a major change in the pressure outside (I live in the north, and the temperature spikes and dips do wonders to chronic sufferers of bronchitis!). Each time I would get horrible hacking coughs, hoarking up green phlegm..it was so frustrating!

The key to getting rid of your bronchitis is to find a way to completely eliminate the germs that are causing all the phlegm and irritation leading to your hoarking cough and heavy breathing. Keep reading to learn how to do kill these germs!!

This is a stupid answer, but did you consult you doctor, allergist, or pharmacist? Your pharmacist is your greatest bet to get the best results. I call my pharmacist more than my doctors. I have so many that my pharmacist and I want to make sure the meds mix well.
How about a cold/hot vaporizer? My son had one that was prescribed by the doctor.
Thanks so much for your information about my dentures. Our problems are opposite, my bottom particle is so tight that they will not come off. Hope that is ok. My top dentures are the problem. I had to file complaints against the dentist for several reasons. This was done only because other professionals advised me to. I do not think it would be a good idea to go back, he would probably pull all of the bottom teeth that are left. He wouldn't numb my mouth either.

This is a secret that pharmacists rarely tell people. There is a cough suppressant available that works like a miracle. Cough medicine like Vick's formula 44D don't really work all that well. You must try a codeine based cough suppressants. The pharmacist keeps it off the shelf even though its an over the counter drug. Just ask the pharmacist for or about this stronger cough suppressant. They will give it to you. Just don't get addicted to it.

Hopefully you have been to the dr. to get medication if you have an infection. Try a DM cough syrup - if that doesn't handle it, you can ask the pharmacist for one with codeine. Use a cool mist humidifier in the bedroom. Take hot showers so you can steam yourself.
Such on hard candies, such as peppermints or lemon candy. Ease your sore throat with tea with honey.
