Advair for asthma?

Any one have problems with weight gain while taking advair for your asthma.I'm about to scream

the former compound is a steroid and one of the side effect of steroid is to increase weight

I've been taking Advair for 4 years now and have never had this problem with it. Perhaps the weight gain you are experiencing is not due to the Advair, but to something else entirely. I don't even think it's listed as a potential side-effect within the package. Check with your doctor as soon as possible, perhaps it's your thyroid. Perhaps it's just a matter of self control on your part. Try to monitor what you eat throughout the day, when you eat it and what it is. Are you eating healthy foods or a bunch of junk? When do you hit your inhaler, my instructions are once morning and once at bedtime.

Check with your doctor about this, the two just don't go hand in hand.

Here's the thing. I gained a little weight with it coz of what it does to some of my already higher than usual hormones. I'm not the usual user of Advair. I stopped taking it, and have lost the weight gained while on it, but I really need to take it because it helped. I can't do situps and such without asthma meds coz of the inflammation caused by the exercise (I have another issue playing into that.) So...I guess it's better to take the medicine and risk the chance of temporary weight gain?

I was on Advair for 4.5 years and never had that problem. That doesn't mean it doesn't exist in some people, I'm just not one of them. I can see how it could put weight on someone....it is steroids.

No, I have been taking it fir about four years and I haven't noticed any weight gain.
