A week ago I had a sharp pain in my lower right back. It's about where my kidney is. I thought little of it, but the next couple days it happened periodically, then I felt what I can only describe as something inside there pushing outwards kind of pressure along with pain, but it was off and on.---

Eventually this was accompainied by some lower right abdominal pains, occasional nausea, light headedness, disorientation, etc. The doctor say there was no blood in my urine, he thought it unlikely to be my gall bladder and very unlikely to be my appendix.---

He put me on ranitidine (Zantac), and did blood tests to check for infection (they aren't back yet). Today, 2 days later, the "pressure" is much worse, and the pain in my abdomen more steady, along with more frequent back (kidney area) pains.

Urination is normal, bowel movements mostly normal, though a decrease in appetite. No fever. Just feels like I'm carrying a full water balloon between bottom rib and hip bone. Idea

I've had an awful experience with kidney stones before...it included intense pain, getting very ill, 3 trips to the ER and eventually, having them surgically removed.

I noticed the other week that my back was hurting a bit. I just thought it was stress or it was feeling tired. But now I'm starting to feel a sharp pain/pressure in my groin area on the left side. This is reeeally similar to how I felt a few months before I developed a kidney stone previously.

What can I do to prevent them from developing again??? I know to drink lots of water, but is there anything else that helps?

Right under my eyes... darker in color than rest of my face. I know something is wrong with this excessive sleeping pattern without the strength all day. What kind of doctor should I see if I decide to find out the cause of it? I am thinking of depression.

I've seen questions here asking if there are diseases that can cause someone to have a blood alcohol content. Most people said, "no," but there were a couple answers that suggested either a blood yeast infection or a form of diabetes could produce in the blood a level of alcohol or something that mimics it. What I want to know is if it's possible for these diseases to register a blood alcohol content that's 3-4x the legal limit.

There is someone important to me who has had a problem with drinking in the past. I went to see her in the hospital recently. She thought she had pneumonia, but the only thing tests revealed was a BAC of almost .38! She swears up & down that she hasn't had a lick of liquor in almost a month, but the doctors & nurses say the only way to get a BAC that high is to drink excessively. I'm desperate to believe her, but I just can't trust her. What do you say?

MR imaging of the brain reveals evidence of focal parenchymal lesion in the right posterior parietal region in the subcortical white matter. T1 weighted axial images shows a pin head sized nodular hypointensity with an isointense margin.FLAIR axial coronal images show signal attenuation in the lesion suggesting its cystic nature. No vasogenic oedema seen around lesion.
My 8 yr old neighbour is having this problem. Would be grateful if anyone throws light on the nature of this condition and possible treatment options.

I've been told my blood pressure is naturally low (usually about 90/58) but it regularly falls below this and i get faint and dizzy. My consultant has told me to eat plenty of salt, drink lots and go for walks. This doesn't seem particularly helpful. I also have Crohns disease, anaemia and crohns-related arthritis.

I just need some direction. I have had gall bladder removed for these symptoms 2 years ago and it did not help. Now? Its worse. Liver pain (or pain in liver area), nausea when I have bile taste in mouth (comes and goes) dizziness (seen an ear specialist for but came to no conclusion except excess ear fluid). I also am only 36 but my cycle is getting further apart and less in duration. I googled my symptoms "Liver pain and bile taste in mouth" and found tons of Chinese (I think) herbal sites talking about "Qi" which I do not understand. Does anyone have any recommendations? When I had my gallbladder removed, I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease and my liver enzymes were elevated prior to surgery but that's about it. I do not drink but do struggle with weight on and off. Any thoughts or helpful advice would be appreciated. I did begin taking Milk Thistle as I read it helps clean the liver out and I also have an appointment with my physician early next week.

I've had an eating disorder called ednos(eating disorder not otherwise specified). ok, so i've had it for 3 years now. i've maintained 90-95 lbs. for 2 years. I'm 5 feet tall. lately, i've been trying to overcome this, and i've tried many times and fauled. but this time, i seem to be making some good progress. but, i've gained 6 lbs in 3 days. and for me, that isn't cool. I have abused laxatives and i'm thinking maybe thats the problem, because now i have very bad constipation. I also used to starve myself and even made myself purge alot. i'm 100 lbs now, but i'm eating healthy. my ideal weigh for my age and height is 95 lbs. so i was never really underweight, but i still had an eating disorder. The problem is, i'm eating healthy now, and i'm still gaining weight. and i'm afraid that if i reach 105, i'm gonna freak and i'm might start doing all the things i was doing before and feel guilty again and hate myself. i'm scared. i don't want to be 105 again, i looked so fat.
I really want to know a way in which I can self recover, but still be 95 lbs. C’mon. if other people without an eating disorder and eating healthy can do it. Why can’t I? By the way, keep exercise out, I have school for 10 hours. 7:30-4:00. And I do workout for an hour after dinner and 15 minutes before. And no, it’s not muscle weight, muscle doesn’t jiggle or is 27 inches in diameter around my waist. I just want to be my ideal weight. And if I ask my doctor (who is fat), he will just say. Eat. And I am eating. Normal eating, even my friends noticed I’m eating normal again, well, I used to binge a lot and spit out my food on a napkin. Now I don’t. I don’t eat sweets, I don’t eat junk food, I don’t eat fast food…..yet I’m still gaining. And it’s coming pretty fast. 3 days ago I was 95 lbs. So what’s up with that? Yes I’m getting the right amount of calories. No I’m not starving. Yes I’m doing cardios. Yes I’m jogging. Yes I’m exercising in general. Yes I eat every 4 hours (breakfast, lunch and dinner) I don‘t over eat. Yes I eat fruits and veggies. I drink my fat free milk. I eat LEAN meats. I eat whole grains and wheats in high fiber. I drink 8 glasses of water. Yet, I’m still gaining. And please don’t tell me to not worry about it. Because for someone like me, I do worry about and it is a big deal. And 6 lbs in 3 days? Yeah water weight was what I lost, I know. But how can I still maintain my ideal weight without having to starve myself and still eat healthy. And I am eating healthy too. And yes I’m drinking prune juice for my constipation. So please someone help me.

At my first OB appt. for this pregnancy the other day, I pointed out this bump under my belly button. The doc said it was a hernia. I had no idea! I just thought maybe it was a fatty cyst. Now I'm worried it will get worse during the pregnancy. Anyone know if this will happen, or if it does get worse, can you have it repaired while you are pregnant? Should I go see a specialist? If so, what kind of doctor do I go to? I don't have a primary care doc. I just go straight to a specialist. Thanks.
