Has anyone heard if potassium will help RLS? I've recently read online that RLS could be from a depletion of potassium, magnesium or iron. Any thoughts?

I find it difficult falling asleep during the day or at night if my roomate ( i live in a dorm room) is up..even if she is quiet. I also wake up as soon as she gets off the bed in the morning. (im really sensitive to movements while sleeping). Can anyone give me some hints on how to sleep more deeply..without taking medicine. Ear plugs or blind folds dont work...its not the noise but the persons presence that wakes me up as im a light sleeper.

I'm 26 years old and I participate in drug studies for a living and recently got rejected from one because my hemoglobin and hemotocrit were too low. My HDL cholesterol was too low as well. I'm thinking this is because I'm a recent vegetarian... its been about 5 months since I've stopped eating animal flesh. Otherwise, I'm healthy. I don't smoke and my BMI is a low 19.

Since getting rejected, I've started taking a multivitamin with iron, started drinking one glass of red wine each night (to help increase my HDL) and started exercising every day as well. Any thoughts on what else I could be doing that I'm not already? I want to screen for another study in a week or so.

acid reflux, I also have asthma that is affected by the fact that I have the disease Fibromyalga. Everyday I take 10 different prescriptions usually 2-3 a day. They shoot Steoroids in my hip and back and now I am on oral steroids. Needless to say I look like the staypuff marshmellow man. I have ballooned up 80 pounds since all this started and I am very upset about it. My question is. Why is it worth it? I have no quality of life at all. I am turning 35 tomorrow and have to little boys age 8 and 11 and my 8 year old tells me daily he knows I am fat but it'll be okay. Somebody help, because my future ex husband says suck it up.

I have been told by the optician that my eyes are OK. The GP did not even look but said I was to be sure I had a good optician and said none of the loacl ones were any good.

What I get is, about 2 to 5am, a pain in the eye ball and a lot of sticky liquid comes out that is colourless. Once this has come out it is better and not painful.

Often I get the bottom of the eye painful and it is as if I am crying. The eyes are not bloodshot either. The eye ducts are not blocked and there is no infection.

Is this eye strain from the computer?

I have always worn glasses and they are the right prescription. The eyes are OK in-between these episodes.

any help welcome. can anyone shed any light on this? What can I do about it?

This thing happens to me about once every few months. I find myself lying in my bed with my eyes open, staring at the ceiling or at my alarm clock. I try to move my head, arms, etc. but I just can't. Nothing moves. I feel like my body is still asleep but my mind is wide awake. I usually have really odd thoughts--the last time it happened, I kept thinking that there were invisble people around my head, whispering to me--whenever this happens to me. When I do wake up out of this weird state, my heart is usually racing.

There's a specific name for this, but I've only heard it once or twice and I can't find it on the internet. It may start with a "C."

Well, I woke up yesterday with congested sinuses and this morning I woke up and the little flap of skin in the back of my throat (no idea what it's called) was so swollen that it makes me gag when it folds forward because i can feel it on my tongue.

It makes swallowing difficult and feel weird, and it's just uncomfortable.

How much I bring the swelling down? I took some dayquil and a decongestant.

I've never discussed MS with my doctor, but I do have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Myofascial Pain, Neuropathy, Carple Tunnel Syndrome and no telling what else.

The syptoms that concern me is

2. pain occurs in arms with no reason and sometime lasts all day and I miss work.
3. stinging and tingling and sharp pain in feet & legs suddenly. Sometimes I scream!
4. Trouble driving because feet don't do what I say.
And stinging in hands make holding wheel painful,
5. Trouble standing...fell twice in one night on friends I was talking to. MRI said it was disk L5 pressing S1 nerve.
6. Weird visions in eyes open or shut...I see same thing...like words and faces....
7. You have to face me to talk to me and must be within 5 feet or I hear nothing. (Since 1985)
8. Sensitive to heat, pain, and also cold fingers.
9. Slight stuttering and can't say word or name I need/mean
