110 decibels:
chain saw
rock concert
farm machinery
some kids toys
leaf blower
smoke alarm
airplane cabin noise
personal stereo systems (mp3 players, cd players, etc)
arcades

The affects on hearing are:
noise-induced hearing loss
tinnitus (ringing in ears)
can't understand what people are saying in a crowded room
have to turn tv loud to hear it
constantly asking people to repeat what they say
can't hear high pitched sounds

An easy rule...if someone is 3 feet away and must shout for you to hear them, the noise (tv, mp3, rock concert, etc) are too loud and is a danger to your hearing.
