i am 15 and sometimes whenever i sit down for more than 15 minutes, and i suddenly stand up, my vision gets very very blurry. after about 10 seconds it returns to normal. i have a 20/20 vision and can see things from a mile away. but is the blurriness a bad thing? or is it normal? help please!

No, Sweetie, it's not normal. Don't panic, but you should talk to your doctor about that. Ask your mom or dad if this is something they've experienced (it could be a symptom to something hereditary). But definitely talk to your doctor. Don't wait for the problem to get worse or to develop any new symptoms.

Blessings of health.

As many other responders said, it is quite normal. Try not to stand up so quickly.
Also, this happens to many people more often in their teens. The body and brain are growing (you are 15, so you might be growing quite fast now) and need more nutrition and more water. Lots of teens get woozy, dizzy, or even pass out because of this.
try to eat more calories, drink more water (not pop and such), and try not to worry.

probably just blurry because when you stand up all the blood rushes down to your feet. It happens to me all the time. Perfectly normal.

if your vision has been fixed for a period of time suddenly changing can make it so your eyes need time to adjust. you should still consult a doctor to be sure.

It sounds like you have orthostatic hypotension. Basically when you stand up suddenly most of the blood rushes out of your head and you get dizzy. Try standing up more slowly.

You might not be getting enough vitamins. If it takes a while for your eyes to adjust to different lights, go to your doctor or dietrician and eat more carrots. : )

Its extremely normal. Everyone I know gets it, including myself. It's only your blood moving around. Getting dizzy douring it is all part of it, although I don't know if you get dizzy. You're okay, but it sure scared me the first time. I thought I was dying! You did the right thing to be concerned. Don't worry, it's normal.
