My mother told me yesterday that my brother had a "pencil-eraser-sized" piece of his ear removed to have it biopsied. I assume from inside his ear. She didn't have further details and he's very private regarding health matters, so I can't really ask him (since Mom wasn't even supposed to tell me) but I did some research online and got a little info on ear surgery. Still, since I know nothing about his symptoms, I'm not sure just how concerned to be about this. From what I read, even some of the benign ear tumors cause quite serious problems and require surgery. Does anyone have any insight into this? Thanks!

She could not remember where she saw it, but said it explained about having unusual pain and flu-like symptoms associated with fibromyalgia. I have searched the web trying to find a transcript or any information about the show (or segment?) I would really appreciate any input anyone may have.

My daughters rheumatologist will not consider changing her medication. Which i have asked her on 4 different occassions to do so. She is just taking Naproxsen. And has been for 2 years straight. It doesnt seem to be helping her as much as it could be. Her body just got used to the med, and the pain. Please tell me what do I do? Go see another doc? Just go along with it? Or what? Please tell me!

I am currently taking anti-infamitorys and mild painkillers as my doctor believes too much pai killers will cuase it to refalme up.

My friend took part in small study with somatropin for treating crohns, and he said it worked great. I really want to try this out, how would i convince my doctor to prescribe this to me? Since i know its still just being tested for crohns, but i dont think he treating me with somatropin will make him eligible for mal practice. Plus, technically all drugs prescribed for crohns are experamental since nothing really proves to work,.

I have very excessive daytime sleepiness. I'm going in to get a sleep study after waiting far too long. I've noticed my concentration slipping, weight increasing, and generally unhappy due to my inability to perform at work and sexually. I'm a 25 year old male. I thought sleep apnea was for the old and very obese. I'm about 6ft 250lbs, so I'm definitely overweight but I have a hard time getting up the energy to exercise and I'm terribly groggy in th morning. I thrash around alot but I rarely snore.

i went to the doctor and he said that i have abnormal liver function. He said that i have to go and have a scan done or something similar. i rang today and i was told it will cost me $185 to have th scan and i will receive some back from medicare. I just wanted to know if anyone knew if this was important to pay attention to or if it isnt really something of concern. $185 is a lot of money for me as i am not on any income.
I have started to excercise, eat right and am losing weight, I think it would be caused by obesity.
Any information anyone could give me or advise would be great.
