Sometime you will have slight spotting, similar to the start of a normal period, which will progress to the normal flow you ordinarily see with your cylce. Sometimes there is cramping. Sometimes you simply get a normal period starting, except you may notice more clots than usual. In the first month, there really isn't any sign that anything other than a normal period is occuring, because everything is so small at that point. Many women actually miscarry the first month and don't even realize it. If you have had a pregnancy confirmed, try to visit your OB for an exam. If you have an infection of some sort, sometimes treating that will save the pregnancy, sometimes it won't. Sometimes, if it's meant to happen, it will happen no matter what you do. In the meantime, you can try strict bedrest. I'm sorry, but theres not much else that can be done.

spotting, cramping and then a 'heavier than usual' period. The further along you are the more you'll bleed... you may want to see your OB/GYN...

I read that many women (about 60%) get pregnant at some point in their lives and don't even realize it because they have a period that is a few days late that's maybe slightly heavier than what is normal with no idea that they were even pregnant.

You'd probably just think you are getting your period. Cramping and bleeding.
