Yes. Snoring is a common symptom, but not required. You should get youreself checked.

What does your partner say. True sleep apnea is as a person snores and suddenly the snoring stops, and you stop breathing suddenly you gasp and start breathing again. Your pulmonary Dr.will advise you what steps to take after your sleep study. I'm 6' 4" and weigh 225. and I've been on a CPAP machine for the past 10 yrs. If your pushed into one here is a tip, ask for a Rem-star C-Flex with the heated humidifier accept no substitutes I've tried other brands but this the hot ticket today. It only gives you the measured amount of air you need to prevent you from snoring. Easy to learn to like it in no time. Quiet & easy to clean (hoses and mask) Good Luck!

As an obese male myself and about 6.1, I started using breathe easy strips for the nose and the spray for the throat and it at least allowed me to breathe better at night while sleeping and I felt better in the mornings. In addition, I noticed when I ate my last meal at least five hours before going to bed, the mornings were more pleasant also. I had to eat a variety of nuts to ease my appetite and bring water and it works thus far.
Having sleep apnea without snoring? Sleep apnea just means what? Without breath? In other words, it means your breathing patter or respiration's are irregular with episodes of delayed breathing during the night or day.
It is possible to have regular snoring breaths which is a poor air exchange or poor respiration's and not have apnea probably. You will probably have on some occasions a headache when you wake up. If so, it is probably due to the lack of good air exchange or breaths during the night or sleep.
Certainly a thorough sleep study will do. They will analyze your breathing along with your heart and arrhythmia's. Exercise will certainly change or reverse your situation overtime with consistency of course. It is important that you get started immediately as it will get harder and harder to reverse with age.
In addition, this condition could lead to more serious medical problems as you probably already know. Tackle it now, and you will be feeling better and live longer! You might want to consider Yoga or at least regular stretching with good breathing techniques. You do not have to get into Buhda, the religion side of it necessarily, but learning the meditation and breathing techniques will help you to relax better and improve your focus as you perform the various poses.

It's not necessarily for old and over weight people. I had a sleep study done two years ago, when I was fifteen, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, I also do not snore. Seeing your doctor as soon as possible is your best bet though.

Central Sleep Apnea is caused by a neurological issue in the brain, it has nothing to do with your tongue. Obstructive Sleep Apnea, is where your soft tissues block the airway and you gasp for air. Are you overweight? Short neck? If you are worried about having sleep apnea, go to a doctor and they can evaluate you and send you for a sleep study. However, many many people snore and it has zero to do with sleep apnea. Hope this helps...

Sleep apnea is manifested in many symptoms. Go have the study to see what is happening in your sleep patterns. I just had a study done and they found that I have erratic heartbeat and snore my self awake during the night. Your health can really suffer if your not sleeping well. There are many sites that deal with sleep apnea, go searching on Webmd.com.

Yes you can have sleep apnea and I don't snore or even stop breathing....I just breath too shallow so I end up with reduced oxygen levels. I also thrash and they said I have restless leg syndrome (RLS) which they said frequently goes with the people that apnea. I had 2 sleep studies and am waiting for insurance to approve the machine (bi-pap) which they told me is about $5000 for the one they want me to have. good luck!!

I would also have a full blood workup as well. I believe you can have apnea without snoring. You will know soon enough. However I don't think a lack of sleep would account for impotence or weight gain. I wonder if you have diabetes. Are you
thirsty all of the time?

Yes you can. The sleep studies today are more advanced than ever before. Sleep apnea study would be your best bet. There is also a condition referred to as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that you might look into as well.

Absolutely.
Snoring is just one aspect of sleep apnea. The more important ones are frequent awakenings (these are brain wave awakenings only) and frequent cessation of respiration.
