I am facing a kidney transplant sometime this year if all goes well and I pass all the test they plan to put me through. I just wanted someone who has been through this already to please give me some idea what's a head of me. I was scared already before I learn all the things that can go wrong after the transplant. So if anyone knows anything please don't keep it to yourself, let me know what I am facing.

I took my son to the Doctors last night for X-rays of his stomach because he is unable to do #1 or #2 and saw in the X-Ray #2 throughout his whole upper and lower body. He is soo backed up it is to the top of his rib-cage and he complains of chest pain. The doctor gave me some at home enemas to give him and another med. to take by mouth. I have a few other concerns though. Can he have damage to any of his organs or bladder from not being able to urinate or from all the pressure of this stuff pushing against his insides? Is there any kind of illness he can get from toxins? Is it too late for an enema to work? Any info you can give me good or bad please let me know. Thanks

I dated someone who was an alcoholic. They never had a “smell” before, but in the last year of are relationship they started to reek of decomposing beer. (I only know that it was decomposing beer because my ex left a half-empty can at my house and I dumped it on my compost pile and two days later my compost pile smelled like them.) The smell would sometimes be so bad that I would have to turn on a fan after my ex had left to get the smell out of my room. I am just curious, did my ex start metabolizing it differently (switched to a vegetarian diet around last January) or is their body starting to have problems breaking down the alcohol, like the beginning stages of liver failure? I am very curious because I although I have known alcoholics, I have never known one who smelled like rotten beer. My ex had good hygiene, wore deodorant . . .etc, but this smell permeated everything, it was almost as if it were inside them, their breath, their skin, everything.

I have had thyroid cancer 7 years ago and don't have a thyroid. I take .125 Synthoid. I had it checked by my gynecologist because I felt that it was high. He raised my synthoid to .150. I don't have insurance but I was told in the past that I could go in a coma when it got high. My doctor is not that familiar with this. What do you suggest.

I have been to an eye doctor and she could not find any scratches. She gave me Patanol drops to put in my eye for about a week. It relieved the discomfort only temporarily. I do tend to have dry eyes (especially now in the winter) but my right eye has never acted up like this before, and my left never bothers me in this fashion. It is very frustrating, does anyone have some advice? (I just got contacts too, but the burning is the same, with or without them. They do not make it worse.)

I am being treated for a 1cm Kidney stone in the upj of my ureter. Of course it is to large to pass and the pain at times is unbearable. When I went to the Doc the first part of Dec. He gace me 40 7.5 loritabs. Since then I have had 2 refills of 5 mg loritabs (30) each time and 1 (30) 7.5. I am not going over the recommended dose but I need another refill and I'm afraid they are going to think this is to much. I am having surgery in Feb. This is due to Insurance. What do you all think? Is it to much and what should I say? It's been over 30 days since the first script.

I need to clerify that they have been living with him for 2 years. I live 6 blocks away. they chose to live with him as I am with my own mother and her home was not big enough for all of us. I don't know how to let their feelings out. They seem depressed and angry, also at their father. Especially my 14 yr old daughter. There was a time she never wanted top leave his side, now she is angry that he is sick and is tired of caring for him.

MY son is 12 and my daughter is 14, they both want to live with him in this trying time. (We are divorced) I see how stressful it is for them and for their father who is always very sick and cannot parent very well at this point. I'm worried for my children and having to care for their father and themselves as well as depression, and whatever else they may be feeling. I am not sure how to handle this situation.
