I can remember having an ear infection so bad that I had to go on prednisone to relieve the swelling - it doesn't work immediately, but it should work.

Are they giving you anything for pain? Try ibuprofen, if you haven't already.

I'm really sorry you have to go through this - I know how bad it hurts.

Prednisone is a good pain medication, and it usually works for many people! My mother-in-law was on it, and it worked for her! I don't remember why the doctor put her on it right now, but I do remember it working for her. Two weeks is about the recommended time span for pain medication such as Prednisone to work.
I'm sorry you are in so much PAIN!!!! Pain has been my life compainion, and still is!
I'm afraid I didn't help much! I'm sorry!

Well, you could say that doctors are idiots. I have been there many times being prescribed things that didn't quite do the trick, when I knew of a medication (that I'd taken before would) and they wouldn't give it to me.

Then it's time to switch doctors - I know it's a pain - but do it until you find one that gives you what ails you.

If the meds aren't working - CALL HIM - and tell him right away! Make another appt ASAP. - DEMAND releif. If he refuses then dump him - there are so many - you will find someone that will help you.

Hope that helps - and good luck!

Have you tried Advil or extra strength Tylenol? I'd avoid the prednisone if possible, (lots of side effects) but that's just me. You might want to get a second opinion if you are not trusting them or feeling better!! Good luck.

The prednisone should work if the dose is high enough, Did they put you on a medrol dose pack? Any way I would say in 24 hrs you will fell alot better. Good luck.

Prednisone is a steroid. Do a search on this medication on the net and it will tell you how it works. I hope you feel better soon.

The meds will work. I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it took some time for you to become this ill, it will take time for you to recover. Contact your doctor if the pain hasn't subsided in a few days. Good Luck!!
