I've never heard that. You would be well advised to stay in where it is warm after bathing if you are ill. But bathing will not affect a sore throat.

I think the reasoning for this is that you would feel better taking a shower because a shower creates more steam. The Steam helps to relieve a sore throat. Other than that, I don't see any reason not to take a bath with a sore troat.
