I have a friend and he will tell me things and then tell me the exact same thing 30 minutes later and have no idea he just told me that. He also forgets things that I tell him on a regular basis. He gets drunk just about every Friday and Saturday night and has done so for atleast a year. Before that he drank but not as often. He is 19 years old and a freshmen in college. Is he suffering from early stages of karsakoff syndrome, or is there some other side effect of his drinking. Or is he just an idiot?

I had a rash on my right armpit for about 2 weeks now. Initionally, I thought it was ringworms, but it is not spreading. Also, ringworms take out hair. I was not able to shave because of the irritation, and no hair is coming out like it would with a ring worm. I also can't apply any deoderant because it would burn. (which was probably because I icthed it) And, today I realized it spread to my left armpit. But, it doesn't spread any where else. What can it be? How can I treat it? Should I see my doctor?

My son is 16 months old. Since birth he has never had tears when he cries, he needs to be bathed daily or he has a strong body odor, and now has a small lump on his back (left side of ribs, about the size of an m&m). We have seen eye, skin, and gland specialist- no one has any idea why he has all these symptoms. He does NOT have a blocked tear duct.
Any one out there have any ideas? Please, serious answers only.

I have been really inactive over a period of time.but have built myself back up.I got breathless at first when trying to get back in some shape.I usually don't have issues with breathing but lately for some reason I feel like I dont get enough breath although im breathing ok..How can you be sure that you are having issues with breathing?I have anxiety and depression some and not sure im actually having this issue or its just that I think that I might be out of breath..When im active my heart does beat a little harder but not that much. This feeling seems to come and go but not sure that im imagining it or im actually experiencing it.. I am suppose to be healthy and in good shape .. so im not sure what it is..I don't have high blood pressure or heart issues or even lung issues.. Could it be that just perhaps im just having anxiety and nothing else?

For quite a long time I've been having hearing problems. It started out with me missing out words in speech and also missing notes in bass music.
I am at university as well and I sometimes can't hear the lecturer in a lecture theatre, even if they use a microphone.
It's now developed to the point where I was in an exam and I couldn't hear someone talking to me from 2 feet away in an almost silent room. I also was playing bass and missed almost two bars of the drums and I also find it difficult to differentiate between notes, especially F and G. I have also had pain in my ears and the feeling of being blocked.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what is the problem? I'm desperate for an answer because I want to be able to play my bass guitar again.

I was researching the topic and indications tend to suggest I have Mono. My lymphnodes in my neck under my jaw are a bit tender, and I did developed chickenpox like bumbs a few weeks back with the other sore throat, which localized only to the lower body, ie. legs and butt. I haven't had the fatigue, fever and other symtoms of Mono though. What may I have?

I have asked this question many times on here.I have gotten some fascinating responses.I take those into consideration and have some theories on why this is happening.I have been checked by a number of doctors that tell me my condition is benign..Specialist .ok ruled out..They say its caused by loss of padding around the ears,head..Loss of weight. Not blood pressure nor heart or nor lungs or artery or blockage etc..My theory is that I hear it from the back of my head either side.Like I said I lost alot of weight,,The weight was on purpose..ok..no worries there.Next I am smaller than I have ever been and older..Weight loss causes things that haven't been heard before to be heard.Never have I heard the noises that are emitted from my stomach in my life. Now it sounds like Jurassic park..I think it stands to reason if there is so little padding I can hear my stomach produce noises then why not my heartbeat emitting from chest ,neck and head?Sounds logical.Anyone that has this ?Thoughts plea

Backround: been with him 10 years, he is on Paxil 40mg. for the last 7 years. Very anxious in gereral, gets irritated easily. At times he will tell Army tales, some good, some bad, sing Army Cadences in his head for minutes, or hours.Occasionally he will go into a quiet angry place, or "dark funk". For up to 3 days. Today he looks worn out, is very depressed and anxious, And I don't know WHAT to do. If you have any sugestions please share?

I've recently been told I have "Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome (DSPS)", a chronic sleep disorder like "jet lag" where I cannot sleep before at least 2am then am totally incapable of waking in the morning (yes, I own 3 alarm clocks...) even though I've had a good (if a little short) night's sleep...

It's nice to know that there is a name for something which has prevented me from getting a good night sleep in years! It's also great to be able to tell people that it's not out of laziness and apathy that I miss early classes and am late for work etc...

I've tried everything over the past few years...sleeping pills dont make me sleep, just make me sleepy the next day! Forcing a new sleep pattern just leaves me awake and frustrated!!!

I'm despirate to do something about it because I'm trying to hold down a job and complete my final year in university, difficult when you have to be places at 9am! If anyone has DSPS or has any solutions or experience with this let me know!

Cheers!
