I had a rash on my right armpit for about 2 weeks now. Initionally, I thought it was ringworms, but it is not spreading. Also, ringworms take out hair. I was not able to shave because of the irritation, and no hair is coming out like it would with a ring worm. I also can't apply any deoderant because it would burn. (which was probably because I icthed it) And, today I realized it spread to my left armpit. But, it doesn't spread any where else. What can it be? How can I treat it? Should I see my doctor?

Ok, this one I can answer with my eyes closed. My eight yr old autistic son gets this all the time....You need to change the fibers/shirts our wearing until it clears up, then try one of two options...you needs to make a paste from diaper rash ointment and caldesene power (pink power at drugstores) and this usually will clear it up in a day or two....OR it could be a yeast rash that a simple otc 3 day yeast infect cream will cure. Yeast grows in moist areas...I have to do this at least 3 times a month with my son....abd try to stay with cotton fibers in light colors until clear. Sometimes the dyes in clothing cause it to act up.

Seeing as it is just one armpit it might not be the deodorant you are using although i suggest maybe laying off putting any deodorants or products under the offending armpit it might irritate it more. DO NOT SCRATCH IT even though your hands may seem clean they still hold germs just from opening a door. Keep it clean and as dry as possible. It maybe an infection also do you dry under your armpits well after showering? Maybe you should consider going to a doctor or maybe just pop into your chemist/ pharmacist and show them they may have a cream for it? Hope it clears up but if its been there months your going to need some help it is unlikely to clear by itself.

Are you using Spray Deodorant, you could be allergic to the Aluminum in the spray, switch to stick and see if it helps.

it's your deodorant, change it. This happened to me last year, they changed something in the deodorant I had been using forever. When I switched to a new one, it stopped.
