At the local Planned Parenthood, they are so understaffed that often one has to wait at least 2 hours past the scheduled appointment time to be seen. Fluconazole works for me if I take about 3 doses, but getting the prescription is really strenuous.

Maybe you need to discover the underlying cause of the yeast infections. Are you diabetic? Are you on antibiotics? It's true some people are prone to yeast infections but getting to the cause can save you money and discomfort. Try eating yogurt with active cultures, drink buttermilk these are a few of the many things to try. If you have sugar in your urine you are a high risk for yeast infection. I was once under the impression some women just get yeast infections more but I found a homeopathic remedy at the local drug store that cured me of the problem after 2 uses. So maybe you can get a cure not just patch the problem. It may be in your best interest to speak with the pharmacist at your local drugstore to ask about different treatments available to treat yeast infections. If you don't feel comfortable speaking with the pharmacist speak with a nurse at the local health department. They are busy education women concerning gynecological health and are up to date on new treatments and offer clinics for family planning. This even covers breast exams and pap smear at low cost if you qualify financially. OH by the way. To decrease the risk of yeast infection white cotton underwear is recommended, nylon is known to hold moisture and increase infection risk. Also loose fitting pants or skirts will help to decrease the risk of infection by allowing ventilation and decreasing moisture retention.

Yogurt that contains live probiotics is effective in treating yeast infections because it balances out the normal flora in the vagina. When you take antibiotics for a bacterial infection (among other causes) it disrupts the normal flora all through the body. To treat with yogurt, all you do is just apply a small amount inside the vagina with an applicator or your hands. I would recommend doing this at night before bed as it could get a little messy.

check with your local planned parenthood or family planning. Most of them work on a sliding fee scale. You can sometimes qualify for low or no cost treatment.

drink buttermilk and eat a lot of yogurt. if you are getting these infections frequently and you are having sex with the same man he is giving you the yeast infection as a man may have no symptoms but they carry the infection on their penis. i don't mean to be presumptuous.
