My son is 16 months old. Since birth he has never had tears when he cries, he needs to be bathed daily or he has a strong body odor, and now has a small lump on his back (left side of ribs, about the size of an m&m). We have seen eye, skin, and gland specialist- no one has any idea why he has all these symptoms. He does NOT have a blocked tear duct.
Any one out there have any ideas? Please, serious answers only.

Try seeing a geneticist. He/She can run a panel of tests to figure out what may cause your sons problem.

I do suppose congenital screening for metabolic diseases are all negative and cystic fibrosis has been ruled out right?

Hope your son gets well.

That is very odd. I would keep searching. Perhaps a medical geneticist could help (i don't know exactly what they are called, but a doctor who deals with rare genetic diseases)

i might want to stroll away if i might want to. i does no longer have the nerve to inform the guy in spite of if that referred to as his interest to the problem. in spite of the undeniable fact that i does no longer pick to interrupt or offend the guy by potential of declaring something to them.
