I was researching the topic and indications tend to suggest I have Mono. My lymphnodes in my neck under my jaw are a bit tender, and I did developed chickenpox like bumbs a few weeks back with the other sore throat, which localized only to the lower body, ie. legs and butt. I haven't had the fatigue, fever and other symtoms of Mono though. What may I have?

You need to go to the doctor. A sore throat that long indicates an infection. If Mono or infection, you need to get medical attention.

A simple blood test can show if it is mono...or strep...or any of a few other things. I don't think the 'chickenpox like' lesions are related to mono. I am a healthcare provider and if you came to me I'd order those tests...and evaluate for possible need for antibiotic.

Sore throat is usually due to a viral infection. Gargling with warm salty water or mouthwash can reduce the pain and inconvenience. More details and home remedies available at http://ailments.in/sorethroat.html

I would have suggested that perhaps it's an allergy except then mention the rash. Go to the doctor, please. It could be a strep that is travelling. Go get checked before you feel worse.
