I have been really inactive over a period of time.but have built myself back up.I got breathless at first when trying to get back in some shape.I usually don't have issues with breathing but lately for some reason I feel like I dont get enough breath although im breathing ok..How can you be sure that you are having issues with breathing?I have anxiety and depression some and not sure im actually having this issue or its just that I think that I might be out of breath..When im active my heart does beat a little harder but not that much. This feeling seems to come and go but not sure that im imagining it or im actually experiencing it.. I am suppose to be healthy and in good shape .. so im not sure what it is..I don't have high blood pressure or heart issues or even lung issues.. Could it be that just perhaps im just having anxiety and nothing else?

I have had anxiety attacks and have asthma and know what you are talking about. Asthma definately feels different than anxiety. At least with anxiety attacks you can get a small breath here and there. With asthma, if you go into a fullblown asthma attack, you literally "cannot" breath!! I had to go to the hospital and ended up having an epinephrine shot to relax & open up my airways. Ended up being admitted. With anxiety, if you sit down and relax and take your mind off of whatever is ailing you, then the feeling of not being able to breathe (like someone is sitting on your chest) will go away with a little time. The asthma will not go away unfortunately. My advice is to go to your dr. and let him/her know what has been going on and they will more than likely order up a pulmonary function test just to rule things out. Either way, you sound like you may need some sort of meds. Im sure that it is not your imagination making you feel uncomfortable! Either way, look into it!! Better safe than sorry! :) Good luck with everything!

I have anxiety & know exactly where you are comming from. I would say that chances are high you are just suffering anxiety but would be worthwhile getting it checked out. I found out i had asthma when i was 25 & put my breathlessness down to anxiety until i was told i also had been having asthma attacks. Obviously it is best to see a doctor when you are having the symptoms. Good luck.
