Four weeks ago, I attended the ER with extreme abdomen pain in my left side. They diagnosed it as ovarian cysts, but the pelvic ultrasound came up clear. Today I was diagnosed with Mono, with the chances of my spleen rupturing to be quite high. I am bedridden for 14 days. No physical activity for 4 more weeks. Could this have been diagnosed 4 weeks ago, or not? In other words, could my previous pain have been a symptom of the mono infection today?

Well i kissed this boy on the 25th and the day after i did i got this bump ((not quit a blister cause it won't pop or anything)) on my top right corner of my mouth on my gums in the back of my mouth. This started tuesday the 24th. Since that day my right cheek has been a little bit swollen, i've had really bad head aches, and the bump is so big it hurts to talk. Now i've asked the boy that i kissed if he has anything and he said that he has a whole type thing in his cheek but he thinks its just from he bit it too hard on accident. But he said this started on wednesday the 25th. I'm extrely nervous to even talk about herpes and talking to my mom about having a cold sore in the first place-i'm pretty sure she'd get a little suspicous and start asking ?'s. Its a good thing that she asks the questions but the thing is, is what am i suppose to say? And do you think that this is a form of herpes, or its just a simple cold sore thats not a big deal? or what?

I have severe asthma, so my doctor has recommended a flu shot (With my asthma the way it is, the flu can easily turn into pneumonia). I'm a little scared of it. Some people say you can get the flu from it. Other people think that it's a dead version of the virus that causes the flu and there's no danger. What do y'all think?

My boyfriend got a flu shot at work 2 weeks ago, and ever since then hes been complaining about a pain in the spot where they put the needle in. He said the guy didn't "put the needle in slowly like they usually do", but rather "smacked the needle into his arm".

He said his whole muscle is REALLY sore, I think its funny.... its kind of a joke we have.... I call him a baby because everytime i smack his arm he goes "OW my flu shot hurts!!".

its not a big deal but he swears theres really a pain, and i thought I;d be a good girlfriend and look into it.... any ideas?

Hi:) I was wonder if anyone knew what the symptoms of lime disease are. I heard that this disease is very difficult to diagnose. I have gotten bit by a tick before and became very ill, but I recovered quickly. But I dunno if it was lyme disease. I would assume that sense ticks do have toxic enzymes in there mouth which is similar to spider venom, It can make you very sick until the tick is removed. Is this accurate?

So much research in being done in an effort to find a cure/vaccine for AIDS in the world. I would love to see one be discovered, of course, so it could help the people who are being hurt by this horrible epidemic. The images of children and people all over the world afflicted are horrible for me to watch as a new mom and for many others around the world.
One thing, though, a recent interview with Magic Johnson said he thinks the new medication being bought to light for HIV and AIDS is like a blessing and a curse. It will make people take less precautions because there is new medication. So, imagine if there is a cure. I found myself thinking he may be right. I hope not. But, will people become more promiscous due to this easy out if a cure is found? Will it be abused? Share your thoughts, please.

Ok, I have this worried friend. She thought she went off her cycle last night. She also had sex last night. Yes, it was unprotected (please don't preach to me about her mistake)! Blood was on his penis after intercourse (of course)! Now, he is worried that he will catch AIDS or a disease even though they are both disease FREE! He thinks that the blood will mix and form a disease. This sounds silly to me. MY QUESTION: Is it possible for him to catch anything? All answers are appreicated!!!!!!!
