You sound very distressed! First of all I don't know who your doctor is but fifths disease is not rare at all, many children get it. I remember my 2 neices having it when they were young. If you go to your search bar and type in fifths disease, the go to the first website called CDC:Parvovirus B19 Infection (Fifths Disease) it explains everything, such as how it's diagnosed, treatment, is it contagious, etc. It's a very simple site to understand. Do remember it is contagious but is usually only treated with ibuprofen for aches and pains. If you have an immune problem you might need some special care. Read and learn all that you can so you will know what to expect. Don't get to upset just yet! Good Luck!
