I'm a RN who has taught Nursing for over 20 years. Is it worth being blind in one eye for the price of a visit to an Opthalmologist? You need to be examined right away and treated appropriately medically. Discard the tetracycline medication please since it wasn't used up for the specific condition for which it was prescribed. What if a different organism is causing your present eye infection and you made the infection worse resulting in all kinds of potential problems which I won't describe for you. As a RN, I have come across some sad situations including medical/surgical emergencies because someone treated themself or a family member medically to save some money. It's called practicing medicine without a licence. Please do the right thing for yourself. Good luck to you.

Go see the doctor! My son has had this and that is one infection you do not want to mess around with. The infection can go straight to your brain. Go see him. My son was in the hospital with an I.V. drip of antibiotics and he did not seem that sick when we took him. The emergency room doctor almost missed it totally till I pointed out his eye was a little prominent. See the doctor please.
