I have Lyme Disease. The immediate symptoms are, flu like symptoms, stiff neck, bulls eye or butterfly rash. Long term symptoms are brain fog, stiffness in joints and about 41 more. If you have a tick bite, plus a rash of any kind, find yourself a lyme literate doctor. Contact a infectious disease doctor and ask if they are or know a lld. The most crucial part of the diagnosis is finding a dr that deals with the proper symptoms, testing and has no fear in diagnosing it. For support and a list of all the symptoms go to lymenet.org/ They are a great group of people who not only suffer from the disease but all will help you in any way possible. Good luck. PLEASE. Never let any doctor put you on steriods to help with the symptoms until you are sure you do not have Lyme Disease. That is what my family dr. did and I have been paying for it for the last 8 years.

My sister had Lyme disease, and was very very very ill. She did have that target spot on her that she saw but didn't really know about Lyme's and the target mark ( it's not always a target), and by the time she figured it out, it was to late she was sick, bad back, her heart raced she would have to lay down to make it stop, her bones hurt, and she cried all the time. The worst part of it all is, the doctors said she did not have Lyme's, she did diagnose her self did research and she knew she had it but every doctor said there was no ticks around Mi. by the way this happened 7 yrs ago, She finally tracked down a Dr. in Saginaw Mi. who was a Lyme's specialist, anyways he tested her and it came back negative sometimes that happens you have to be tested more then once, the second time confirmed she was positive she was on level 3, which is the highest level to be at. She was put on medication which took a long time to get back on her feet.I want to say like a year. Her heart muscle has weaken because of Lyme's. You know my sister has horses and ticks do land on horses and she does ride a lot and hikes. Sense then she has a friend who has it and now is on ss. and by the way has horses too.

If you had a tick, even if you don't have any symptoms or the red target (aka circle) you still NEED to get a Lyme test.
If untreated, Lyme disease will cause permeate damage to your nerve system, memory and arthritis like pain.
Not even feels sick or gets the red circle at the bite mark, do yourself a favor and go to your doctor or local walk in care clinic and get a test. It's better to spend $100 now to be sure than the spend the rest of your life with permeate painfll damage.

Ticks have to carry the disease to make anyone sick. Ticks are not like spiders. They do not have venom. They can carry bacteria or spirochetes.
