My preschooler was diagnosed w/ pin worms and she and my husband have both now been treated to prevent further infection in the family. I am two months pregnant and was advised by my daughter's doctor not to take mebednizole (sp?). He was unsure of a safe alternative for pregnancy. I would like to take something to ensure I don't end up w/ this horrific condition and reinfect my family. I will consult my OB as well, but am not sure he'll have any idea what to prescribe...if anything.

Ok first off I don't have Mysophobia (germ Phobia) or anything of that nature...

However, when I go to wal-mart I feel like I'm steping into a cesspool of germs. Snotty babies, sneezing kids, the floors are all full of crumbs, people everywhere touching everything. I usually try to not touch the grocery cart , doors, or the pen for the electronic Card reader. I NEVER use the bathroom there.
Its just so yucky that I finally decided that I would never go there again unless my normal grocery store (a nice upscale Fred Myers) was closed.

How about you? Wal-mart...Gross or not?

Lately, I have noticed that I keep smelling this strange scent, which at first seemed to be coming from my hands, but then I realized that I smelled it on other things too, not on my body. It is a pretty indescribable smell, but it basically smells dirty or grimy. The only other symptoms I have had with this are a strange pulsating sensation in my left ear and some pain behind my left eye/nose. What could this be a sign of?

My dad was recently found to have Hep C from getting blood transfusions that hadn't been tested (back in 86' or whatever) because he is factor 9 deficient, can't clot, and needed transfusions. Now he didn't want to talk to me about it because it was upset, but what is going to happen? Will he die of it? He can't have any major surgery because of his deficiency and all he told me was that he was going to start taking shots at the doctor? Can anyone explain to me what my father did not? It's hard to talk to him as he lives 1600 miles away and won't be moving back home til next summer, so it's difficult to talk about over the phone...
