If you have diagnosed theumatoid arthtitis, you should see your rheumatologist to treat your symptoms. Tylenol does not have an anti inflammatory effect like Ibuprophen or aspirin. There are newer drugs on the market for you disease, but a doctor has to prescribe them.
Happy trails and hope that helps

No, you should not relace ibuprofen with tylenol. Tylenol has no anti-inflammatory properties.

You said that ibuprofen helps somewhat, and that you don't have much ain right now, however if you need beter pain control, there are a couple of considerations. You could take the ibuprofen twice a day, or you could consider over-the-counter naproxen (aleve). It is also anti-inflammatory but last longer in your system. A twice a day dose may give you a degee of constant anti-inflammatory effects.

Ibuprphen is better for inflammatory disease then tylenol; but tylenol does not irritate your stomache. I use over-the-counter tylenol for arthritis and it is pretty good. A lot better than regular tylenol. I have to take tylenol, I am allergic to Ibuprophen.

The 2 200 mg's of Ibprophen a day aren't enough to give you an antiinflammatory effect.
You need a lot more than that to get the effect.
I suggest, if you don't want stomach problems, to go ask your doctor about coated NSAIDS that you only have to take like once a day, and don't hurt your stomach.
you are right! Tylenol is not an NSAID.

Ibuprophen is the best anti inflammatory. If it doesn't seem to be working as well, maybe it is time to up the dose or try a different brand. There a numerous brands out there.

Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory. Tylenol is not. 200mg Ibuprofen is below the anti-inflammatory therapeutic level. Work with your primary care or rheumatology physician's before increasing your dose. The anti-inflammatory levels can cause stomach, liver, and kidney problems with regular use, so proper monitoring is essential. Good luck.

Tylenol will not help you. You need to take advil or aleve. Advil is not as strong as Alveve so you can take it regularly. I f you are having a bad day try Alveve. Make sure your other meds. aren't interfiering. Good Luck!!
