HIV does not live in saliva it lies in blood. So for the same reason you cant catch it from kissing an infected person.

OMG NO because in order to get HIV from saliva a non HIV person would have to drink about 1 1/2 gallons of contamiated saliva and even then the chances are still very low.

The person who told you no was right. HIV is not present in saliva in a significant enough amount to hurt anyone. It would take 10 gallons of spit from a person infected with HIV to detect it.

No is the short answer, but Why? well for two reasons according to medical research:
1. HIV virus is not present in large quantities in human saliva
2. HIV virus is not documented to live for long outside the body. That's why it doesnt spread through sharing toilets, towels..etc and in your case pepper sauce.

no. HIV can only be trasferred thru blood contact. the virus doesn't live on salive. You can only get HIV by having sexual contact, blood transfusion, sharing of needles with the infected person

The stomach acid DOES NOT kill the virus!! If that was the case then everyone would be injected with stomach acid if they had HIV!! duh.... silly person whoever told you that!
And yes, you do have a possibility to contract it, although it's very slim to none in that case.
I even had a gay guy bleed on me at work and I didn't get it. That was years ago and I've been tested numerous times since....
It has to get into your body in order to get infected with it, either through a little tiny scratch or hole in the skin, or in the mouth, nose, sexual organs, etc.

First of all, I'd be busy never going to that restaurant again in my life.
Second, HIV is not trasnmitable through spit at all.

no because it can only last a couple of seconds outside the body. it is very fragile. apparrently you would have to drink about 2 litres of spit to stand any chance of contracting
