So what can you do to stop the spread of germs, viruses and flus, both in your school and workplace, and what can others do such as grocery stores and public places to prevent the spread of disease. I suggested that in schools (and we do this) the PTA (since you must fight with the Board and get nowhere) pay for the hand sanitizers...or parents just send your kids to school with them for your classrooms...supermarkets should wipe their carts off or put wipes out for people (cart handles have been proven to have more germs than any other surface!!!)...and what about subways etc...what can we do...I believe we should all walk around with hand sanitizers and I go so far as to wear gloves on the public transportation system. Your thoughts? What are you willing to do to help keep the flu at bay especially with this bird flu lurker ever closer and closer???

I have the general oral herpes, cold sores as they are called, I was just wondering if I can contract the genital herpes also. Someone had told me no but I have my doubts. Any info would be appreciated.

and should your PTA council pay for it? I find that there is rarely soap in the kid's bathrooms...nor do they use it...and the conditions of the bathrooms are often appalling...all parents should send their kids to school with a bottle for their desks but I had them put up dispensers in each class and our council pays for one or two fill ups per year. I think this is how to combat illness in schools...thoughts? Would you do this and do you carry hand sanitizer around with you? We all know that school season means viruses and flus so will you do your part in preventing the spread of disease?

for her question posted about working with a colleague that is hiv +?there were people that answered her question saying that shes a t*at and shes ignorant.how that??!!i dont think her question was offensive atall-if she is genuinely worried about it-it is her choice-i wouldnt want to work with someone who has hiv-why should you have to work with someone who has a SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASE???it is dirty and clean people shouldnt have to be around them.ive got a baby due in a few days so i dont work but my boyfriend does-and i would hate to think that he was working with someone who had it and then coming home and kissing our child.people were far to harsh to her-people that get these diseases-its thier problem-we shouldnt have to worry about catching it off them.

Ok, I was dancing yesterday with this guy-he had been out earlier that week being sick. We did the waltz and the tango(u know close body stuff). Tonight he apparently got violently ill at this dance gathering we went to and left. I have a really bad phobia of vomiting. I was obviously exposed to it but how do I avoid getting it?

I need to get some treatment for a close relative in Nigeria who does not have access to the drug. She has been given chloramphenicol but she appears to be resistant to that.

I'm getting over some sort of respiratory/sinus infection that's been going all over my city. i'm like 6 or 7 days in, and all i'm dealing with now is sniffles and congestion, with a little cough. The length of recovery would appear viral, as I've not been on antibiotics and my symtoms are clearing and I'm feeling *much* better now than i was four days ago.
Is this a better safe than sorry, or does it sound like i'm all good?

My girlfriend is a dental assistant and was transferring tools that were used to clean the mouth of a patient that previously had hepatitis. One tool poked her finger thru the bag and she squeezed it until it bled. She doesn't believe there was blood on the tool and she had her Hep vaccinations last year. There's probably very little or no chance she could contract Hepatitis thru it, but how long after the incident should she wait to get a blood test to confirm it?
