After washing my hands in a public toilet, I always take an extra length of tissue to cover my hand when opening the exit door. People wash their hands then just grab these handles without thinking. They are full of germs from the people that just dont bother. Its not enough to just wash your hands in public places, you've got to think about cross transfer germs which are present on all fixed touchable objects!

Last week, I tested positive for STREP throat and the doctor gave me amoxcillin (a form of penacillin). I completed my medication yesterday and i have no more pills to take. Today, I went right back to the doctor and told him that I completed my Amoxcillin but my throat still has minor aches and pain. He did another STREP test and He told me that the infection is gone. He said the reason why my throat is still hurting because that's what happens at the ending of the infection. He then went ahead and prescribe another treatment for me to take down the swelling and the pain. He prescribe "PREDNISONE". My question to you guys is did my doctor give me the right treatment (Prednisone) to completely take care of my swelling and my aching throat?..And what exactly will Prednisone do to my throat?..Please give accurate feed back. I'd really appreciate it.

I have had mono now for almost a month. I am feeling totally better. All of my symptoms are gone and I do not feel drained anymore. Basically I feel about as normal as possible right now. I have been sleeping a lot and taking vitamins. My dr. told me to wait 2 months before getting back into the gym and being involved in strenuous activities. This seems a little lengthy compared to everything else I have read. Is there anything I need to look out for in the mean time? Just looking for advice from people who have had this before.

I'd like to know what's the possible causes for having a bladder infection in women. I have read that some bacterias are already present in the human body and make an infection when they go to the urinal system, but I'd like to know the most common reasons for having this infection..Also, does the alcohol combination with sex helps bacteria to grow?

I saw on the health channel last night that there is a mutated gene from, scientists think, the survivors of the bubonic plague that prevents the people who have it from getting sick from most viruses. One man who has the gene, which has been isolated, did not get HIV even though a batch of blood he received was infected. Scientists are trying to learn from this to prevent epidemics. What I wonder is, what will happen if we cure everything or have a shot for everything. How are we going to have a life if there are too many people to feed, house, etc; when populations explode from all the advances in medicine and natures was of purging itself is taken away. What do you think? I think we won't die from disease- we'll die from starvation and friction between the masses.

I think it is the scabies mite but I am not certain. I think I have Norwegean Scabies which was missed on preliminary investigations a few years ago. Hope to have dx confirmed today and begin tx. Very interesting creatures albeit gross! Damages have been extensive and I feel angry with the doctors, including a dermetologist who played the sores on my scalp down and never did dx or tx. Also a world recognized allergy specialtist wanted to attribute the sores to either stress or my wash out hair colouring! I began researching when I noticed odd little pieces of foreign matter on my rugs walls and counters. I thought perhaps moths or somrthing so I called an exterminator who while we saw no moths did spray my base boards. He suggested I look up case moth and web moth. I began tosearch for moths that ate cocaine which led me to some interesting creatutres but not near as interesting as the ones I have been living with the past couple of months and I believe last year too.
