No form of contraception is 100% secure. But its a 100% safer if you use it. To be as safe as possible you need to take every precaution possible. Without a condom you have 'no' protection. And so some protection is much much better than no protection at all.

Remember also that HIV is highly contagious through bodily fluids and so sex is only one way of contracting it/ doctors can get it if they cut themselves on a surgical knife while performing an operation on a patient with HIV or Hepatitis or similar diseases. The same goes for used syringes.

But a condom will do a great deal to protect you from catching it via sex. But remember STDs and Aids are among those cheeky bastard strains of killer diseases that always seem to find a way so make sure you know your partner's full sexual history and always practice safe sex.

No, because there are still people out there that only have sex with one person and have never used drugs and never had a blood transfusion. 100% HIV infection is just not realistically possible, but condoms do help stop the spread of it to more people than who have it now....

Only if it is used. It doesn't hit 100% because it might slip. However lack of a condom combined with HIV exposure gives 0% protection.

No, not 100%, but it is still the most effective method of safe sex. Naturally, the safest is not to have sex. Realistically, know your partner, have a std battery done on both of you, and use a condom. Every time.

It is education and common sense sexual practices that will prevent AIDS, not condoms. AIDS is 100% preventable.

No. Comdoms do little to protect from any serious diseases, and even some minor ones like HPV.

They are a preventative for pregnancy and, sadly, that's about it.

It can never be 100%. Thats why it is good to be in a relationship for a long time and really know your partner before you have sex.
