Diabetes

My friend has type two diabetes and is in end stage renal failure as well as having had a CVA about 2 years ago leaving him hemiplegic.
He wants to give up dialysis as he feels it's not worth the discomfort.
How long is he likely to last without his 3 times weekly haemodialysis.
I don't need the gory details of what will happen to him without it, I know that too well, I just want to know how long we are likely to have with him.

I am a chef cooking for the elderly. I make diabetic cakes but want to put a more interesting topping on, other than jam. Does anyone have a diabetic icing/frosting recipe they could suggest?

i am thirsty and unriat offen
but im not tired im not hungry my skin is not dry and ichy and i allmost never get headacs

and i dont what to tell my mum and dad cuse im scared that if it is dietbeties that i have let them down as there child. i what to go get a blood test but i need my mum with me.

Lately I have been feeling hungry alot and I do know that some of the symptoms for diabetes is an extreme hunger, but my blood sugar is normal, what else can cause someone else to feel hungry all the time other than diabetes?, please help me

Can anyone suggest foods that are easy to take to work that don't go bad real fast? I have hypoglycemia and I work a job that requires me to work 10-12 days sometimes and I am always on the run. I work for a doctor so I have little time for myself. I was told to eat several small things a day to avoid feeling ill etc. Any suggestions?

i can't tell if it is a spider bite or an ulcer. the skin is not broken but it kind of looks like a blood blister on a callused part of my foot. there appears to be two small holes like bite marks. any advice would be greatly appreciated

I'm a type 2 diabetic, on metformin & insulin at night my sugars are always running very high & have been advised not to get preganant at this time untill my diabeties is well controlled.
However, i'm 35 & would like to have a baby soon & upon reading the leaflet on metformin tablets it suggest's not to take if preganant or planning to become preganant, dont know if this is the reason why I haven't felt pregnant yet?? does anyone know?

I had a test done at a fair - a local medical centre was doing a community service by testing for blood pressure, cholesterol etc. When they got my glucose result, they said I should go to the nearest clinic for blood tests, but didn't want to go into more detail (they had long queues waiting). What is the meaing of this result?

He cries b/c of the severe burning. He is diabetic and has gout. I was told cherry juice would help. My mom washes his feet for him, and he takes pain medications that only put him to sleep.. Hehas to take other med for other conditions but he wants the Drs to take off his feet they hurt so bad. Im in GA so if anyone knows of a Dr that will help him or anything that we can do please let me know. I cant even sit with them and watch him go through the pain knowing i cant help him. Thanks

If one smokes during a glucose test for diabetes how much will this affect the blood glucose results? Will the blood glucose levels be higher or lower than they should be because of the cigarette?
