Diabetes damages your internal organs. It can kill you if left untreated. You have done nothing to disappoint your parents. Diabetes is largely inherited which means you probably got it from them if you have it.
You need to tell your parents immediately and get medical treatment for whatever is causing your problems. Tell your mother immediately.

First thing - don't be scared. I am 37 and was diagnosed at 26. I too was scared, but that turned out to be nothing but my un-education about the disease itself. I did not want to admit that I was not in 100% control any longer.
If you have diabetes - it is treatable and it is not the end of the world. Think of it as a new beginning where you will start to really watch what you eat, focus on exercise, and generally live a more healthy life.
It is a start, but you must first take the step to go and get checked. If you dont, you could have more severe issues that potentially could cause death which is not a good option over going to the doctor to get a real quick and simple test.
There are many many people with diabetes and we have a great support group. Take my advise and go get checked. Fear a little bit about the disease, but then educated yourself and figure out how to best treat the disease if you do have it.

Don't be scared diabetes is very common and it is an illness, do you think that you let your parents down if you get sick, the answer is NO. Go to the docters and get a simple blood test, you may have a slight urinary tract infection or maybe your thyroid is all out of whack. All these conditions are treatable you will be o.k. the sooner you sort out these problems the sooner you will feel better. You can email me anytime if your worried or just need someone to talk to o.k. you haven't done anything wrong i hope that's clear.

Listen, as I am going to talk to you as a mum. You have done nothing to let your parents down, and nothing to cause your parents to not love you if you do have diabetes. You say you are overweight, sometimes diabetes can be controlled with diet alone, but it has to be monitored by a doctor. You will need help with your problem, as it does sound as if you have at least 2 of the symptoms. Talking to your parents and getting to the doctor as soon as possible are very important to get this treated if it is diabetes. It also may not be, but you still need your parents love and help. Hugs, now go talk to them and tell them your problem so you will not have to be so worried and go through this alone. They would feel as if they have let you down for feeling you could not come to them.

Excessive thirst and frequent urination are most definitely symptoms of diabetes, but that doesn't mean that you necessarily have it - they can be due to otherr things as well. The important thing is to have them evaluated as soon as possible because diabetes and other conditions are serious, yes, but can be treated and or controlled. Even if you are a diabetic, it's nothing to be ashamed of or frightened of, but you do need to deal with it ASAP. Good luck.

its your choice. you are putting your life in danger.
I have been diagnosed with diabetes type 2, 3 years ago. Its been very hard to accept the reality that I am living with this disease. Recently I was hospitalize for hyperglucemia (very high blood glucose levels) and I was on the verge of slipping into a diabetic coma. I wasn't eating right nothing, because of depression and lack of exercise and taking meds properly. Now I have to take insulin shots because of that.
So, my advice for you is to go to the doctor and get it treated immediately. Do it for yourself, if your parents don't care. Good luck in life.

My boyfriend just found out he has diabetes a few months ago. If it would've went a little longer without him knowing, we think he seriously would have been in trouble with his sugar so high. You need to tell your parents and get yourself to the doctor right away to find out!! Your parents love you and just want whats best for you, they would rather have you come tell them now as to waiting and having something serious happen from complications.

You need to check that and do it asap! Diabetes is nothing to mess with! You have not let your parents down, they will want to know this. I as a parent would feel bad if my child did not want to tell me things like that. Diabetes is not a small illness, however it is a manageable illness. Tell them, I'm sure they will help you!
