Generally, people think diabetes is hereditary.
It is not. It is a dietary problem.
Both can run in the family simply because of the same food and lifestyle, leading to a higher risk percentage.
These two problems can be controlled by proper diet and exercise.
Yes, you can marry her.
Try to advise her on her weight and diet for her own health's sake.
It would certainly help her and you too.
I understand your concern. However, remember to love her for what she is, not what her mother has......still, I understand you.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.
Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!
I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Definitely. Marry the girl. Make sure you do the right thing by making her your beneficiary after taking out the maximum possible life and health insurance you can afford.
Then, after the wedding, keep fit by taking up all of the following sports:
Base Jumping
Sky Diving
Deep Sea diving without SCUBA
Caving and exploring underground rivers.
If she hasn't collected on the insurance after 12 months, consider travel. Fun trips like backpacking in Iraq proclaiming the gospels, or wandering Colombia helping the farmers eradicate coca production.
Actually, you asked the wrong question. Should your fiancee marry a jerk?
Cheers, Alan, T2, Australia.

If her mother has Type 2 diabetes (the common form related to obesity), which I assume she does, then there is good news.
That new is: Type 2 diabetes can often be prevented with a healthy lifestyle, such as a healthy diet, exercise, and weight control/loss.
So if you love this women, get a gym membership with her. Cook healthy meals together. Throw out the chips and beer, turn off the TV, and go for walks together.
Love means helping, not hurting.

This is a question that only you can answer. While we can give you advice, the final decision needs to be from the heart.
From a personal perspective, who cares if she has diabetes? The disease is treatable and over the next 25 years there will be a cure for diabetes. Kind of like polio was 25 years ago.
From the weight perspective - If you love this person then I would say go for it. They need your help to change their habits which is causing the weight issue. Some of the weight also has to to with the diabetes - but as I said before, diabetes is treatable.

I think that if you love someone, genetics shouldn't be a factor!
Love that young woman for the qualities that make her--I think you do like her,but the pressure of society to be fit and thin is making you think twice before you go there with her. Let all your inhibitions go--if anything help her to lead a more healthy life and enjoy each other's individuality.

About the only excess baggage you're taking on is the fact her mother has diabetes.
It increases the chance she might eventually get it.
And again, YOU might get it, too,
So if you're looking for an excuse to NOT marry her, don't jerk her around, just tell her.

If you're asking that question, you shouldn't be getting married. If you marry someone, you are excepting them with all their flaws. If you don't like the flaws of the person you're with, then you should probably not be together. Not once did you mention love, either. When you love someone, you should be accepting of their flaws to most extents, after all no one's perfect, including you. Perhaps, if your mate saw this question you've posted, it would reveal to her one of your flaws.
That's my two cents for ya.
