My son is now 6 and been diabetic for 2 years. Last night, I gave him his insulin as normal before tea, then when his tea was ready he said he was not hungry so did not eat anything until his supper time. If having insulin and nothing to eat, what effect would this have on him. Would it make his blood sugars go high or low. When I tested his sugars this morning they were 4.5. He did not go low in the night so was just wondering if I should worry incase this happens again.

Its hard to describe, like my legs can't stop moving or spasming or something.
I have type 1 diabetes and I wasn't sure if it has anything to do with it. I haven't been able to sleep for the last week. I have really bad circulation in my feet so I figured that was what it is. But it seems to only happen when I lay down and try to sleep. Has anyone else had this?

I mean, no matter what walking ou do or the limited food you drink, the medicines one takes on daily bases, add to it the insulin taken, would they discourage weight loss, no matter how hard you try. Would abstaining from taking some of those medicines, reverse that trend.

I have a few questions about this disease ... if you neglect your health what can you expect to go wrong? and/or if you go into DKA a lot ... when does the body say enough?? (I am trying to learn about this disease to help my (step) son understand what his mother is doing to herself ... she seeks a lot of attention and I have personally witnessed her do it on purpose). Thank you for your help.

my mother is diabetic, she had surgery on her foot last year because she had a bone infection. he got a thumb tack stuck in her foot and it just went down hill from there resulting in the surgery. she does not like to go to the doctor. right now she would have something stuck in her foot and not know it til a few days later, she wear house shoes but recently a tack went through the shoe which caused lots of bleeding. i keep telling her she needs to see her foot doctor because it is not normal to NOT KNOW when something is in your foot. she will not go back because at her last check up her doctor "sanded" the rough skin off her foot resulting in swelling and redness the next day. what would be the consequences if she won't go?
