Greetings, I'm retired and in my early 60's. Generaly, I know what diabetes is and what it can do to you. I have a history of it on both sides of my family. I have loss several family members in the past and my older blood brother is dying of it as I speak. As yet I do not have it. However, can you tell me what are the top 1 or 2 "very early" signs of diabetes? The reason I'm asking is because for the past 8-12 months I have had a growing awareness of a small dull ache on the left side of my spine (if you were standing behind me looking at my back it would be on your left). On a pain scale level of 1 to 10, my pain level is about a half a point to a one ( 1/2 to 1). It feels like it is taking up space inside me more and more during this time. I sleep well at night but when I first get up in the morning is when it hurts the most. Its get better after a few minutes of moving around. I do not see a doctor except twice a year to get my blood checked, its okay. I am not on medication(s).

Our fathers glucose readings have been between 15-23 for the past week. He has been on predisolone, and we realise this will raise his levels. He is now on insulin injections and tablets. His levels still haven,t come down under 12. We are worried about how long his levels can stay this high without doing damage.

Does anyone in the know have the details of how the FDA plans on letting us (the consumers) be aware that the milk or cheese or whatever is from cloned animals as I just read that on the Yahoo page that FDA approves selling products from cloned animals!!! Help us dear God.

I HAVE DIABETES AND WORK FT. AM ABLE TO WORK FT. BUT NOT AFTER 7 pm BECAUSE IT MESSES WITH MY EATING HABITS. I ALSO HAVE LEUKEMIA, WHICH MY WORK DOESN'T KNOW I HAVE THAT. THEY DO KNOW THAT I HAVE DIABETES. MY DR. WHO MANAGES MY DIABETES DOESN'T WANT ME WORKING PAST 7, AND MY ONCOLOGIST DOESN'T EVEN WANT ME TO WORK, BUT I HAVE TO. I HEARD YESTERDAY THAT I MAY BE KNOCKED DOWN TO PT SINCE I CAN'T WORK PAST 7. I WOULD THEN LOSE MY INSURANCE, WHICH I DESPERATELY NEED. THEY LET OTHER PEOPLE IN MY DEPT. ( I WORK RETAIL ) BASICALLY CHOSE THEIR HOURS FOR OTHER JOBS, SCHOOL, GOING TO CHURCH,ETC... THEN WHY AM I POSSIBLY GOING TO BE PUNISHED BECAUSE I HAVE A CHRONIC DISEASE? IS THIS LEGAL?
