One of the things that you should be aware of is that there are several different ways of assessing whether or not you have kidney issues. The most common way to detect kidney issues in the past was a serum creatinine. This measures the level of protein in the blood. This test is sensitive to dietary protein intake. If you have recently begun using supplements or increased your intake of dietary protein and you have had a result that seems off on the serum creatinine you will want to do a different test to rule out kidney problems.
This is Glomelular Filtration Rate and the best method for testing for kidney problems. The new standard is MDRD as opposed to eGFR. This will give you a definitive answer as to whether or not you have renal insufficiency.
Hope that helps.

Yes high protien levels can start spilling over into your kidneys, which will cause them to over work and eventually result in the death or serious problem of the kidney's. Then you may need a transplant if that happens.

Actually if you have a kidney problem-- too much protein can cause problems with "hyperfiltration" (the kidney's have to work harder). How ever- if your kidneys are normal-- than there shouldn't be a problem, since protein generally is not excreted by the kidneys unless there is inflammation. Too much protwin without cards can lead to 'acidosis' and change the body chemistry- but its not specifically harmful to the kidneys

Yes it can. It can cause Kidney stones which can lead to kidney damamge and it could lead to death..Not trying to scare anyone but I had this happen to me. I had stones that punctured holes in my Kidneys and let infection drain into my blood stream and that almost killed me. So don't mess with your Kidneys if you think theres a problem get it seen about..asap.

Only if you don't have a balance to your diet will this happen. you need more than protein, you need veggies, fruit, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, good fats and enzymes and a well balanced healthy diet including a variety of healthy foods to be healthy.
