Saddest thing my brother went through ( he was a Type 2 from age 6) was a kidney/pancreas transplant: it prolonged his life by 5 years but it was a grueling and limited 5 years.. he died from complications 5 years to the day of having the surgery. Being in the ICU with him and watching him die and holding his hand as he took his last breath here on earth was the hardest thing I ever had to do. He was 28 years old.
Don't take diabetes lightly people, listen to your doctors, get exercise, limit carbs and sugars and enjoy life, it can be shorter than you realize..
Good luck and blessings to all of you.

Watch my father die.......my 30 yr battle with diabetes includes nothing sad, maybe hard to deal with. Pulling plug on your grandmas life support, or hearing your fathers last breath, now those are sad things that make you forget you have to watch what you eat or test your BS.
