It is extremely high, you should call your physician or go to the emergency room! If not, you may go into a diabetic coma. Normal blood sugar should be between 70-120

Considering that the normal blood sugar should be in the range of 100-120 an 857 would justify a trip to the emergency room.

As far as I know a blood sugar level of 857 is fatal. Even a level of 300 or 400 can send you into a coma.

857 is a high blood sugar level. A normal level is between 70 and 110 before meals. You should consult your doctor to test for diabetes

That must be 8.57 mmol/L if it is 857 mg/dL, then it would be extremely high. The normal values for blood sugar in mmol/L is 3.5.-5.6 mmol/L and 50-120 mg/dL, So if you compare your results with the normal value, then it indicates that you are a diabetic, Consult a doctor, there are several complications stemming from diabetes; eyes, heart kidneys, all of the organs in the body are affected. So don't dilly dally, consult our doctor.

this seems like an over the top number for a sugar level. I have heard of 500 high blood sugar level, and the doctors told this person if he had not come in when he did that he could have died..
Very dangerous if left untreated.

Hello =)

what scale...the US measurement?? mg/dl??

Yes, then, 857 justifies a trip to the ER, but I don't know of any meter that reads that high. Is this for a person who is already in the Hospital??

I had an uncle whose sugars would top 1000, and, of course, he would feel lousy, and drive himself (eeek) to the hospital, where they would admit him for a week in intensive care.

Namaste, and Happy New Year,

--Tom

Super high ... my BIL was just hospitalized for his blood sugar being over 500 and the doctor told him most go into a coma between 600 - 800. Get yourself some medical help ASAP ... if you don't have anyone to take you to a hospital, call the rescue squad!

You are dead!

90 to 120 is the usual normal limits though they can be a little lower or higher depending on exercise, eating and other factors. High blood pressure more than likely is indicative of more than just pancreas issues, especially the older you get!

Glucose (Sugar) test. Control your blood glucose & do self-monitoring as & when required. (Target: Fasting blood sugar 60-100 mg/dL; Postprandial blood sugar 2 hours after food-Less than 140 mg/dL)
Admit the patient to the hospital immediately to avoid complications.
